In an attempt to accurately capture the subjective perspective of a race track, NARTA offers numerous methods of collecting and studying information. Our primary research method's include surveys, observations, personal interviews, and phone interviews. Direct Mail surveys have also been proven to be effective as their cost are low and return rate is above satifactory. Currently NARTA uses three types of surveys: direct mail, fax, and electronic (internet). Via the surveys, NARTA can accurately define places of strength, weakness, and recommendations as to how to increase a track's satisfaction index.

Three main surveys:

NARTA administers, analyzes, and provides each member track with their averages and comparisons to the industry average. As an additional service, NARTA offers a comprehensive report on the information collected, and can supplement the information with qualitative and quantitative forecasting techniques. Thereafter, NARTA consults the track as to how to better segment, target, and position itself within its market.
