Federal judge rejects ISC’s motion to be dropped from the law suite involving Kentucky Speedway v. NASCAR.  The judge also rejected NASCAR’s motion to dismiss the case and set forth a deadline for the discovery process as Feb. 1, 2007.

President of Bristol Motorspeedway, Jeff Byrd, set forth plans to resurface the track after the Food City 500 in March.

ISC’s plan to build an 81,500-seat stadium Light with a 1.2-mile oval and a 2-mile road course on a 950-acre land bordering Kitsap and Mason in Washington State will delay lobbing the state Legislature until 2007.  The proposed opening for the stadium, 2010, should not be affected.

LMS expected completion of a $3 million resurfacing project is early May (a few weeks prior to the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge - May 20).  Wheeler notes that through utilizing the technology and equipment of Sunmount, an industry leader is resurfacing tracks, that the three-dimensional digital surveying will be accurate to an eighth of an inch eliminating “how rough the surface is; the difficulty of the entry and exit points in the turns; the ability of the drivers to look ahead; and spots where the racing groove narrows."

Southeast Toyota Distributors and Toyota Motor Sales USA have agreed to a new sponsorship deal with Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Included in the deal is for Toyota being the official car, truck, and vehicle of LMS, Toyota will reap the benefits of track related benefits such as "prominent advertising," and rights to hold ride-and-drives, owner’s events, and new product launches at the track.
